Class Breakdown Acting: Actors shall prepare and perform an age appropriate monologue as well as a Two person scene chosen in class. Exercises include: Relaxation, Vocal Concentration / Memorization, Focus and Characterization. Actors will be instructed in basic stage presence, stage direction, beats, rhythm, and timing. Toddler Theatrics: Imagination development through creative fun play with Props, Costumes, Music, and Improv Games between parent and child. Exercises include: Marching/Dancing, Vocalizing/Singing, Creative Story telling and performing, Puppets. Toddlers will be instructed on teamwork, following direction, and basic stage movement and presence. Acting for the Camera: Actors shall prepare two monologues – One "Presentational" and One "Representational" and a Two Person scene. Exercises will include: Relaxation, focus, concentration/memorization and vocal levels. Actors will be instructed in Camera terminology, establishing shots, Medium shots, and close ups as well as creating sightlines, blocking for the camera and preparing for business media interviews. Public Speaking: Students shall prepare a 5-10 speech to be presented at the end of the course. Students will be instructed in 5 basic parts of a speech: choosing topics, creating content, passionate delivery and overcoming fear. Exercises include: vocal diction and pronunciation, relaxation, focus, concentration and topic content creation. Showcases: Actors will have the opportunity to "Showcase" their talent to Professional working Hollywood casting directors and agents, as well as other industry professionals. Every 8-10 weeks JDS Actors Studio will hold an Actors Showcase where a collage of scenes will be performed in front of family and friends. Performance Club:Actors will have the opportunity to Audition for productions by JDS Actors Studio Performance Club. JDS Actors Studio is partnering with local Theatrical venues for Performances of large Musical Productions and smaller Dramas and Comedies. Next Performance Club – mid Fall 2010
